tenth-grade student at Danwon High School on the outskirts of Seoul, South Korea who was among one of more than 295 passengers and crew members reported missing and feared dead in the sinking of the ill-fated MV Sewol Ferry when the five-story ship carrying 476 people on board (mostly high school students traveling to Jeju Island on a four-day field trip) reportedly capsized in the murky waters of the Yellow Sea off the south-western coast of South Korea as Navy divers were trying to rescue hundreds of passengers from the sunken vessel during one of the country's biggest peacetime disasters in 20 years, in which the cause of the sinking is not known but the ferry's captain Lee Joon-seok was arrested along with three helmsmen and a 25-year-old third mate on suspicion of negligence of duty.
